Analog Camera Video Surveillance System:-

Analog Camera Surveillance System turns the video signal into a format that can be received by a television or other receiver such as a VCR or monitor. It is the traditional system of video surveillance. In the traditional analog CCTV application, security cameras capture an analog video signal and transfer that signal over coax cable to the Digital Video Recorder (DVR). Each camera may be powered by plugging in the  power supply right at the camera or by using RG59 Siamese cable which  bundles the video and the power cables. The DVR converts the analog signal to digital, compresses It, and then stores it on a hard drive for later retrieval. Intelligence is built into the DVR to handle such things as scheduling, motion detection, and digital zoom. Monitors for viewing the  video are connected to the DVR, or it can be set up to publish over an internal network for viewing on PCs. The DVR can also be set upto  broadcast over the internet and can add password protection and other features.

Technology Used

An analog CCTV system using a DVR (Digital Video Recorder) is an analog  system with digital recording. In a DVR, the videotape is replaced with hard drives for the video recording, which requires the video to be digitized and compressed in order to store as many day’s worth of video as possible. With early DVRs, hard disk space was limited – so recording duration was  limited, or a lower frame rate had to be used. Recent development of  hard disk means space is no longer a major problem. Most DVRs have  several video inputs, typically 4, 9, or 16, which means they also include the functionality of the quad and multiplexers.
